Not Just A Robe
We didn't want to make a standard robe. We wanted to make one that felt like a designer piece you happened to wear at home.
THE IDEA
A Robe, Reimagined
Most robes are designed to be functional first. We wanted ours to feel different. The idea was to create a robe with the presence of a fashion piece, something you would genuinely want to wear rather than simply throw on. It needed to feel at home in a bedroom, but just as natural at a resort, by the pool or on the beach.
THE SILHOUETTE
Drama In The Details
The dramatic bell sleeves and low V neckline were intentional from the beginning. Instead of keeping the silhouette safe and familiar, we wanted proportions that gave the robe a sense of movement, elegance and drama. The result feels closer to a designer cover-up than a traditional robe.
THE PROCESS
Five Samples To Get It Right
The robe went through five rounds of sampling. We kept refining the proportions, the fall and especially the sleeves until the silhouette felt exactly right. Even one day before the final shoot, we altered the sleeves again. We knew that if the proportions weren't right, the entire piece wouldn't feel the way we imagined it.
THE PURPOSE
From Home To Holiday
We designed it to move beyond the bedroom. Wear it over sleepwear on slow mornings, over swimwear at the beach or pool, or as resort wear when you're away. The long, fluid silhouette makes it easy to throw on, while the statement sleeves make sure it never feels like an ordinary cover-up.
